Day 1

MORNING
Monday morning, we went to England by boat from Hoek van Holland to Harwich with the Stenau line. Back then, the fast line was still available so it took us only 4 hours to cross the channel.




Once we arrived in Harwich, we took the train to Colchester. There, we were picked up by a couple of vans who took us to our hotel: "The George."




This 500 year old coaching house is located in the heart of Colchester, England's oldest recorded town. The hotel reflects the style and elegance of the bygone era. We slept in this quint hotel and also did our training sessions here. During breaks we would go outside and strolled down high street.

AFTERNOON
After lunch, we assembled for our first training session. To warm up, we had an afternoon about classroom english. A variety of topics was discussed e.g. how to dicipline pupils in English, clear explanation of materials in English, everyday English in class. This was especially useful for members in our group whose subject is not Englisch but for instance history.
