Day 5

Last training session with Diana.

Unfortunately, I haven't written down all the exercises we did during our days with Diana. What I remember mostly, is that she had much knowledge and she was able to transfer her collaborative learning style to any subject.

She constantly challenged us and tried to convince even the most sceptical teachers, that any subject can be taught in a different way.

However, I wrote down two exercises according to the spiral method.

1st topic: cold war (subject: history)

• make pieces of paper with two types of statements: one about capitalism and the others about communism. Give out the pieces of papers with the instruction that ppls must make 2 lines facing someone who is linked to them through the paper (e.g. freedom of speech/censure)


• picture dictation: tell in short the cuba crisis by telling them to take a piece of paper and draw different countries etc. In the end you have drawn the cuba crisis.


• debate between communist country (with roles e.g. president, advisors etc) and capatalist

2nd topic: the life of the germ (subject biology)

• match dates with inventions


• draw a graph when the germ was happy (e.g. in times of cholera) and when the germ was unhappy (e.g. invention of penicilline)


• swap graphs with partner and discuss
